Job Summary:
The Calgary Mosaic Primary Care Network is an arrangement between a group of family physicians and Alberta Health Services - Calgary to provide primary care services to patients living in Northeast and Southeast Calgary.
The Calgary Mosaic Primary Care Network (MPCN) is seeking an experienced medical office assistant to work in their Northeast and Southeast Calgary clinics.
Duties include:

Front Reception (greeting patients & attending to telephones)
-
Use of Electronic Medical Records and other computer applications to book medical appointments
-
Operating office equipment (voicemail, photocopier, fax machine and scanner)

Coordinating patient bookings and referrals in a multidisciplinary team setting

Organizing and filing patient charts
-
Running physician clinics (rooming patients, assisting with paper work & vital signs)

Responding to public enquiries and other duties as required
Qualifications:
· High school graduate or equivalent. Preference will be given to those with a related post-secondary certificate or diploma (Medical Office Assistant, Health Information Office Assistant, or similar).
· Minimum of two (2) years of medical office related experience preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset

Proficiency in the use of computers including MS Office.

Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus in patient care

Strong organizational and time management skills
-
Ability to work effectively in either an independent or team setting

Flexible and dependable
-
Experience with patient care in a general practice office or women’s clinic is an asset

medically complex patient, and care of patients with chronic disease
•Improve coordination and integration with other health care services, including secondary,
tertiary, and long-term care through specialty care linkages to primary care
•Facilitate the greater use of multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive primary care
